Sylvia supports the operations of the organization across the Northeast and mentors the Co-Executive Directors. Sylvia is a community organizer, facilitator and strategist committed to building a multi-racial, cross-class movement for change. She is the former Executive Director of Community Action Works, where she worked for 16 years. During her decade as Executive Director, she helped community groups win more than 100 victories for clean air and water, from retiring coal-fired power plants across the Northeast, to halting new fracked gas pipelines, to closing and preventing polluting landfills and incinerators, to securing clean drinking water for thousands of families. She has a BA from Yale.
